“Design thinking diverges in its deep brainstorming and prototyping phases, which can be very enlightening and useful when it comes to solving problems.” (Santee 2014) Ethnography is approached differently from an artist or architect or computer programmer because most artist, architect and computer programmer will cite their work and make it known that the work that they created is their own. In an interview with Design Anthropologist Armonía Alvarado she states, I’ve also called myself a digital anthropologist, design anthropologist and even a design or web ethnographer. It is the case for many anthropologists not to reveal themselves as such due to the history of our profession, because they don’t want to put themselves in a box that prevents them from being or doing something for others or for themselves. (Santee 2014)

An ethnographer does their work with no real recognition. They do things because they are very interested with what there is to learn in a certain location. It is also a way to learn the traditions and see people in their natural habits. This brings a positive change to the society without making it too uncomfortable for the people who already live there. People can also use this to self-learn ideas and bring them into their day to day life. People who are in the ethnography field must be quick thinkers to create a solution when a problem has arisen. They have to create a plan that they know will work for the current location they are in.

Design and ethnography are so similar yet so different. Link:http://www.meldstudios.com.au/2017/01/04/what-designers-can-learn-from-ethnography/

Many artist, architect and computer programmer have spent so many man hours to create their project that they want everyone to know that they have created is the next best thing. They use design thinking to create a piece of work that no one has not created before and that requires a deep brainstorming and knowledge of other painters and creators. The same for a person who is an architect to create a design for a building that is different and still pleasing to the eye. A computer programmer must use a deep brainstorming when creating a new prototype for a computer programmer or even an app for a phone.
