My media experiment takes a look at how fantasy sports are a part of sports fandom. To some extent, fantasy sports serves as a way for fans to further immerse themselves in the recreation they love to follow. In the video, I compare fantasy sports to other outlets outside of the games themselves using my trading cards and video games. I try to present how communities of sports fans try to get more out of the fan experience, while also changing the way they watch sporting events and interact with different screens (phones, laptops, television) while they occur.

The ESPN 30 for 30 documentary “Silly Little Game” chronicles the beginnings of fantasy sports through Rotisserie Fantasy Baseball. One of the creators of Rotisserie Fantasy Baseball created the league to live out the fantasy of being a sports general manager with their friends.
