“It’s a man’s world past the front garden…”

This video was created to pay tribute to the women in my family.

I think that it is important to know where you come from and it starts with the storytelling that happens when you’re young. There are a lot of women in my family, and extended family; most of the children and grandchildren that have been born, have been women. So, of course, a lot of the stories told in my family are about women. I also think that it is cool to be able to look at old pictures and piece together some of the stories that I remember hearing about. Or seeing pictures of my great great grandmother and trying to imagine what her life must have been like.
