Speed running (beating a game as fast as possible) has become a significant event in the gaming world. Every 6 months, Twitch.tv promotes a week long speed running event where several speed runners try and beat nostalgic games as fast as possible. Viewers can donate money and all proceeds benefit the Prevent Cancer foundation. The first three pictures demonstrate the visible growth of this event over 3 years. The audience grows with each consecutive picture while the amount of money donated by viewers also becomes larger at every event. The last picture shows the analytics of past events. This relates to my final paper as I plan to analyze speed runs and the creativity and commodities involved with these events.
