Memes, how to provide a general message and humor
A meme is generally an idea that spreads across the internet through images, videos, audio, etc., anything that becomes popular. A macro (image macro) is a picture with overlaid text that features a subject and a humorous caption or catchphrase (FunnyJunk). While people tend to identity them incorrectly, macro’s can be considered memes.
Boellstorff’s book Coming of Age in Second Life captures the virtual and real aspects of life through social interactions and events presented within both worlds (virtual and actual). As one who experienced virtual worlds — the time spent online changes your view on things, especially how to communicate and live with what you’ve discovered through virtual situations. For this experiment, I will summarize Boellstorff’s “Second Life” with the use of 10 memes. My intent is to provide humor for all and to capture the virtual experience.
