The sounds of procrastination

If only you could hear how often you interrupt your work…

My media experiment this cycle aims to highlight just how disruptive procrastination really is to workflow. For this soundscape, I use two sounds: keyboard typing and Spongebob sound clips. The sound of keyboard typing symbolizes productivity. The Spongebob sound clips are from the “Procrastination” episode. I selected Spongebob because his goofiness underscores how nonsensical it is to procrastinate when you know you don’t have the time to. Finally, for about eight seconds of productivity, there is 10–15 seconds of procrastination, representing how procrastination has the serious potential to outweigh our work time.
