For this week’s media experiment I decided to talk to a UMBC student and ask them what the word Progressive meant to them. Way back when Trump announced he was going to be running for President, many people experienced fear and anger. As time passed and he went on to win the election a new group of activists popped up and began calling themselves Progressives.

UMBC students were big supporters of former Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and after he lost the Democratic nomination, students changed how they viewed themselves. There is currently a Facebook page dedicated solely to UMBC Progressives and it’s a way for students to stay connected via social media and meetings on important political issues and policies.
