As a noun, a narrative is a spoken or written account of connected events. It can also refer to the narrated part of a literary work, as distinct from dialogue. The practice or art of telling stories is also referred to as narrative. In a broader sense, it can be a representation of a particular situation or process in such a way as to reflect or conform to an overarching set of aims or values.

The term “narrative of a nation” refers to explaining or understanding events that construct a story or account of a nation’s history, culture, values, and experiences. It often reflects and promotes a particular point of view or set of values. This narrative can be influenced by various factors such as historical events, cultural practices, societal norms, and political ideologies.

It helps in shaping the identity of the nation and how it is perceived both internally by its citizens and externally by others. It’s important to note that narratives can vary greatly depending on the perspective from which they are told.
