Throughout the semester we have explored various different aspects of media studies. Starting with the focus on fake news and exploring different forms of research (scholarly articles, essay articles, etc) then moving onto propaganda and algorithms how they influence or manipulate the public and finishing with learning about research tips and tricks.

When covering so many things it can be hard to pin point exactly what we covered and what will stay with us once the semester ends. By creating this poster about my Top Ten Insights I was able to gain perspective on what was important to me and what will stay with me as I continue my graduate career.

The concepts of propaganda, algorithms, and the online sphere can be hard to understand. In the complexity of these topics ten specific ideas stood out to me. This list reflects what I learned during COM 520 and what sunk in for me as a student. The goal of reading this list is to not only understand the education that I received but also gain some media literacy as the reader.
