MEDICAL TOURIST VISA

The process of VISA issuance is often complicated and bureaucratic. Foreign patients willing to visit Korea struggle with all necessary documents and costs. The MEDIBEU platform facilitates all in order to provide the best experience to our users.

Each year several foreigners seek for Korea’s world-class medical services and benefits. For such purposes, patients must apply for the C-3–3 MEDICAL TOURIST VISA and be eligible for a 90 days stay. For treatments that exceed the 90 days period, the G-1–10 TREATMENT AND RECUPERATION VISA is also available.

Both VISA’s are available for patients who received an invitation from a medical institution with the purpose of medical consultations, treatments or care as well family members or escorts accompanying the patient.

Yet, due to several cases where foreign patients did not leave the country within the legal period, thus illegally staying at the country, the C-3–3 VISA issuance process became harder. As such, the minimum require documents are (other documents may be required as well):

For applicants:

1. Proof of employment;
2. Proof of financial ability to support the medical purpose;
3. Documents proving medical issues such as a record of diagnosis or a doctor’s note;

For caregivers:

1. Official family relations document to prove relationship to patient;

For medical institutions offering the service:

1. Business registration certificate;

However, for companies who were appointed with an “outstanding medical travel facilitator” are able to simplify such procedures through its One-stop electronic service.

KMS (Korea Medical Service), MEDIBEU’s main partner, was appointed with the above mentioned status in 2017 and thus able to electronically provide Medical Tourist VISA’s.
