On July 17, Dr. Eunsol Lee and Dr. Allen Wookyun Kho, CEO and co-founders of MediBloc in Korea, attended the launching ceremony of NIA project held at InterContinental Seoul COEX. National Information Society Agency(NIA) is a quasi-government agency under the Ministry of Science and ICT.

The title of the research for this project is ‘KOREN* network-based medical data trading research using blockchain technology and the composition of the medical network research consortium.’
* Korea Advanced Research Network

With Seoul National University Bundang Hospital as the supervisor and others including Seoul National Univ., Yonsei Univ., CHA Univ. as participating institutions, MediBloc in Korea was selected as the sole blockchain technology provider.

All participating parties, including MediBloc in Korea, will be forming a medical network research consortium and expand the network through the practical development of its research. In addition, the consortium expects to popularize blockchain-based PHR platform, reduce health checkup costs, and become the world leader of medical blockchain as the result of this project.

At the ceremony, Dr. Lee said, “This project will be our opportunity to create and demonstrate a blockchain-based medical network with a government agency, medical institutions, and healthcare companies. We expect to see not only technical validation but also the expansion of an ecosystem where personal health record platform can be utilized.”

We appreciate everyone’s continued support for our project. To celebrate the launching of the NIA project, we have prepared an airdrop event! Please refer to this Facebook post for detailed instruction on how to participate.
