MediBloc in Korea Receives the Minister’s Prize from the Ministry of Science and ICT at the 2020 ICT Innovation Awards in South Korea

On December 10, MediBloc in Korea won the Minister’s Prize, an award of great distinction, at the 2020 ICT Innovation Awards in South Korea.

The 2020 Korea ICT Innovation Awards ceremony, held online this year, was hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT in cooperation with seven organizations: the Korea Information and Communication Industry Promotion Agency, the Electronic Information and Communication Industry Promotion Association, the Korea Intellectual Property Internet Association, the Dong-A Daily, the Electronic Times, the Korea Economic Daily, and the Korea Information Broadcasting and Communications Federation.

Korea ICT Innovation Awards are given to those who contribute to national economic development through the convergence and utilization of ICT in the fields of science, technology, information, and communications, with the purpose of spreading ICT convergence to all sectors of industry and boosting the morale of those employed in all the various fields.

MediBloc in Korea was honored for its contributions to the development of the medical data industry, including applying and distributing the latest technologies, such as blockchain. Of particular note is Medipass, the first simple insurance claim app to apply blockchain technology in South Korea. It has been widely praised for vastly improving patients’ medical experience by connecting them to their medical information in cooperation with major hospitals such as Seoul National University Hospital, Samsung Medical Center, Severance Hospital, and Mokpo Hankook Hospital.

Dr. Lee Eunsol, co-founder of MediBloc in Korea, said, “We are pleased that MediBloc has contributed to the development of the medical data industry. We will continue to strive to improve patients’ medical data experience and create innovative medical experience cases by developing optimized solutions in the rapidly changing industry.”
