Hello, this is the Weavrcare team.

April 26, 2024 marks the 7th anniversary of Weavrcare.

This year’s anniversary is even more special as it’s the first anniversary since Weavrcare officially changed its name in March.

So, for this 7th anniversary, we gathered questions from those who support and are interested in Weavrcare and conducted a 7th-anniversary Q&A session with our two CEOs. They will share their honest thoughts on how they see each other, their impressions on reaching the 7th anniversary, and their goals for this year.

1. Over the past 7 years of running the company together, what significance does each of you hold for the other?

Wookyun Kho: “A partner I can lean on when things get tough.”

Eunsol Lee: “An excellent partner I can entrust everything in the company to.”

2. If you were to be born again, would you choose to found the company together again? Why?

Eunsol Lee: Looking at personality and tendencies, I am a type who faces many difficulties alone. There aren’t many people who can fill this part well, understand my thoughts easily, comprehend them well, and challenge me, but I think Mr. Kho is like that. So, I would probably think of Mr. Kho first.

Wookyun Kho: It wouldn’t be significantly different, but if I were to start a business with someone again, I think it would be this representative because their character and balance match mine well. I’m the type who doesn’t have a very high self-assurance, so I’m always striving to compensate for that lack. This representative always being positive and full of confidence becomes a source of comfort and strength for me when I feel ‘difficult.’

3. What was the reason for recently changing the company’s name?

Wookyun Kho: We decided to change the company name because Weavrcare can better represent what we want to do. I think the previous name emphasized only blockchain. While it is true that we are a company that utilizes blockchain well, it’s not just about blockchain. We found limitations in solely focusing on blockchain because providing seamless services requires us to connect various medical/health services and data.

Eunsol Lee: Especially, if a specific technology is included in the company name, it seems that people tend to think internally and externally that we pursue only that technology. However, since our main customers are patients and medical professionals, and our goal is to provide services targeting them, changing the name was essential for scalability.

4. What does Weavrcare signify?

Eunsol Lee: Mr. Kho will answer this question.

Wookyun Kho: Weavrcare is a new name reflecting our determination to become a company that tightly connects individuals, hospitals, and medical/health information to integrate various medical/health services. Healthcare is very extensive, and there are various services and derived data on top of it. We aim to integrate these various elements well and provide seamless services for the entire health journey. In our new name, Weavrcare, ‘Weave’ signifies intertwining strands, just like interlacing threads to create fabric. Adding the suffix ‘-er,’ which means ‘someone who does,’ expresses our intention to tightly connect individuals and hospitals, similar to tightly weaving fabric, and offer a seamless service.

5. Do you have any regrets about changing the name from MediBloc to Weavrcare?

Eunsol Lee: As MediBloc was well-known, there are still many cases where people are not familiar with ‘Weavrcare’ when we mention it. Of course, there is natural regret about the brand awareness that comes with the business, but as mentioned earlier, when considering the direction we are moving towards and what we need to pursue, changing it sooner rather than later is the right decision.

Wookyun Kho: It’s regrettable, but as the company grows and expands, it might be even more challenging to change later. By growing as Weavrcare now and increasing brand awareness rapidly, we aim to overcome this challenge.

6. What is the relationship between Weavrcare and MediBloc Coin after changing the name to Weavrcare?

Wookyun Kho: MED Coin is a coin issued through ICO by MediBloc Limited, an overseas corporation, and supporting services or activities using the blockchain, Panacea, platform of MediBloc Limited was one of the roles of the Korean corporation. However, the Korean corporation’s role is not limited to supporting Panacea-related services but also to providing services that encompass the overall healthcare ecosystem. Thus, it was natural to change the name considering the growth direction of the Korean corporation.

Eunsol Lee: MED Coin has been held and operated by the overseas corporation (MediBloc Limited) from the beginning until now. And the Korean corporation, Weavrcare, is one of the ecosystem participants striving to utilize Panacea well to deliver better value to customers.

7. What is one thing you can confidently say is Weavrcare’s pride?

Wookyun Kho: The people who are with Weavrcare. Our biggest pride is the members who sincerely believe in what we dream of achieving. The goals we aspire to can seem very difficult and distant, but having members who genuinely believe in them and work together is our pride.

Eunsol Lee: Along with this, the people who are with us boast exceptional skills. They not only have skills but also constantly strive to improve to create better products. Products created by such people are of the highest level of technological proficiency. Perhaps the greatest pride of Weavrcare lies in the best technology that can be created thanks to the people who believe in us, their skills, and dedication.

8. What is your biggest concern these days?

Wookyun Kho: My biggest concern is how to find better people to work with our current team.

Eunsol Lee: I am concerned about how to develop the product more rapidly to make it available to more users.

If I were to summarize our answers in one word, it would be ‘growth.’

9. What are you currently focusing on the most?

Eunsol Lee: I am focusing on internal organization management. Since last year, there have been changes in business direction and organizational changes. In this process, I thought that our thoughts and the direction each leader and member were looking at had changed, and I am making efforts to integrate them into one.

Wookyun Kho: Specifically, I am focusing on re-establishing the direction we want to go and organizational culture overall, by increasing conversation time with members and planning and implementing activities to improve organizational culture.

10. If you could go back 7 years and change one decision, what would it be?

Eunsol Lee: There may be trivial things, but I don’t have any major regrets. And trivial things may not have a significant impact now. Even if I could go back and make the decision again, I would make the same choice I made at that time.

Wookyun Kho: I agree with Representative Lee’s words.

11. What is Weavrcare like on its 17th anniversary?

Eunsol Lee: In 2034, Weavrcare will have grown into a global company that encompasses medical institutions beyond Asia.

Wookyun Kho: It will have grown into a platform that people always use when going to hospitals.

12. What isWeavrcare’s goal for 2024?

Wookyun Kho: Our goal for this year is to achieve over 300 healthcare institutions using Dr. Palette, and to actively promote the use of Dr.Palette and Medipass services in those clinics. I am confident that if every member of Weavrcare, including Representative Eunsol Lee, works together and strives for it, we can achieve any goal for this year.

With that, we conclude the interview with our two representatives.

We extend our gratitude to everyone who supports Weavrcare, and we will do our best to deliver good news of growth.

Thank you.
