MediLOT at CNCC2018

Prof Ooi Beng Chin (Co-Founder, MediLOT) was invited to give a keynote speech at the prestigious 2018 China National Computer Congress (CNCC). Held at the Hangzhou International Expo Center from October 25 to 27, the theme of this year’s conference was “Big Data Drives the Digital Economy”. Nearly 400 well-known experts and entrepreneurs spoke at the huge event, which attracted more than 7,000 professionals from nearly 1,000 enterprises and institutions.

Prof Ooi’s keynote, “Enterprise Blockchain Systems: From 0 to 1, to Infinity”, was about the implementations of blockchain systems. Prof Ooi spoke about the biggest challenge faced by both public and private blockchains in blockchain engineering being system scalability. In his presentation, Prof Ooi delved into the design and attributes of enterprise-level blockchain systems and compared them with traditional, non-blockchain systems.

Speaking about the future of blockchain engineering, Prof Ooi introduced a set of standardized evaluation frameworks for private blockchains that is widely recognized by experts to be the future of blockchain engineering. Using these new frameworks as a case study, Prof Ooi further explored the aspects of improving the implementation of blockchain systems, including bottleneck analysis and technical routes.

To end off his keynote speech, Prof Ooi introduced MediLOT’s solution to the application of blockchain in the healthcare field — MediLOT’s medical blockchain and artificial intelligence integrated service platform.
