This year’s HLTH Conference promises to to be a smorgasbord of disruptive health innovation. With so many options to choose between it’s hard to know where to start, but here are 5 of our favorite startups to watch for:

1. Papa - Grandkids On-Demand

Everyone worries about their elder relatives, whether it’s parents or grandparents.

Papa matches seniors with college students to provide transportation, help around the house, and good old fashioned companionship. You can rest a little easier knowing someone’s playing checkers with grandma today. Keep an eye out for Papa’s founder Andrew Parker at the conference.

2. Synchronous Health - A.I. Assisted Mental Health Interventions

There’s a shortage of mental health professionals in the United States, and implementing practices from counseling can be a difficult process.

Synchronous Health attacks both of these problems by allowing practitioners to program interventions for their patients that are automatically triggered by the patient’s surroundings and emotional state. It’s like an AI in your pocket that gives therapeutic advice right when you need it. Be on the lookout for founder Guy Barnard.

3. Sopris Health - A.I. Scribe for Clinicians

One of the most painful and time consuming parts of being a physician is documentation and data entry.

Enter Sopris Health: their A.I. Scribe captures clinical conversations and turns them into document-ready notes in seconds. Now clinicians can spend more time with patients and less time at their computers. Expect to run into founder Patrick Leonard.

4. Ride Health - Patient Transportation for Medical Visits

One of the leading barriers to patient care is access to transportation, which causes 3.6 million low-income and elderly patients to miss visits each year.

Ride Health bridges that gap by allowing healthcare providers to easily schedule and manage transportation for patients that need it. Keep your eyes peeled for founder Imran Cronk around the conference.

5. Medinas Health - Helping Medical Facilities Monetize Their Surplus Supplies & Equipment

That’s us! Every year, the healthcare industry loses $700B+ to inefficiencies, billions of which is medical supplies and equipment in perfect usable condition that end up in the trash.

Medinas Health has created a fast easy way for healthcare orgs to monetize those billions in supplies and equipment. We integrate directly with your existing systems to save clinical engineers time and save your organization money. Be on the lookout for our founder and CEO Chloe Alpert around the conference (or you can reach her at chloe@medinashealth.com).
