cicadas symbolize death and rebirth

Welcome, pilgrim to the great journey toward the end of all things.

Xenophon once quiped : “Blessed are the cicadas, for they have voiceless wives.” as only the males of the species “sings”

They work in broods.

In Phaedrus, Plato muses that cicadas were once men who became so enraptured by music, they forgot to eat and drink, and their bodies wasted away

cicada was sent by God to rouse peasants from afternoon siestas on hot summer days and prevent them from becoming too lazy. Instead of being disturbed by the cicada, the peasants found the sound of their buzzing relaxing, “It’s not good to work when the cicada is singing.”

“cicadas with a prime-numbered life cycle had the most successful evolutionary strategy.”

Primes are very important to cryptography, and prime numbers are the language of god.

all is vibration, thus all is music existence is harmony

In Phaedrus, Plato muses that cicadas were once men who became so enraptured by music, they forgot to eat and drink, and their bodies wasted away.

A parable of the Cow & the Cicada : The Cow chews its cud. While the song of the Cicada fills the air. “Come out where I can see you,” shouts the cow, “your song is so beautiful it deserves recognition”. “Thank you” says the cicada, “but I prefer to remain in the shadow.”

“Why?” Asked Cow. “You should take pride in your song. Quick, come out there’s not much light left.” “I do not seek a stage” said Cicada. “But talent deserves recognition.” says Cow. “Ah!” exclaims Cicada. “Define recognition” “Fame.” Says Cow. “Don’t you want fame?”

“But just ask yourself why you seek attention” said Cicada. “But just come out for a moment to show me what you look like, so we can get to know each other” said Cow. “I cannot” said the cicada “There are predators around who want to kill me.” “Then why do you sing? Asked Cow

“I am calling to the others to create a chorus so hunters can never find us.” Said Cicada “I have a good life. I am praised for my milk and the cheese I provide. What more could I ask?” says Cow “One day your farmer will introduce you to the knife” says Cicada

“I choose not to rely on what a farmer can provide. I prefer freedom.” replies the cicada. “I possess nothing except my song, even that is to be shared. I choose not to depend on the farmer, and I do not trust his workers, his injections, his sprays, or his empty promises.”

The cow laughed “But tonight I go to the river and many of us will sing together. Why don’t you come?” asked Cicada “I can’t” replied Cow. “I am obligated.” “We must choose our obligations” said Cicada. With that, Cicada vanished, as the last second of the daylight died.
