Larry Page and Sergei Brin are the founders of Google and are constantly thinking out of the box to advance Google. Page appeared at at TED talk and talked about some of the things Google has in store for the future. To brush upon some of the things, he mentions artificial intelligence, access to anonymous medical records and automated cars. Even though some might not be in favor of artificial intelligence and access to anonymous medical records, Google is just trying to make our lives easier. One of the biggest issues we have in America is healthcare and with access to anonymous medical records, “we’d save a 100,000 lives this year” accorrding to Page.

Moreover, we look to Google to answer any and every question that we might have. For example, Google Maps for directions, Google Images for pictures and Google Drive for saving our work. It has become a tool that some might say is vital. Brin and Page are only trying to keeps up with the advancing world of technology. They’re finding more ways for Google to be even more involved in our daily lives.

Both of the founders believe that technology is the way to change the world. According to Brin,

“We will be able to make machines that can reason, think and do better things than we can.”

I think that is important to note that they’re taking they’re company and using it to improve all aspects of society like healthcare, transportation and education.

5:35–6:30 Highlights Charity

Page and Brin continue to contribute to society with the Google Foundation and the grants that help many charities.

According to the book, The Googlization of Everything

“Google has thus been the victor in winner-take-all race to serve as chief utility for the world wide web. In 2010, in the midst of a massive two- year economic downturn that hampered every sector of the global economy and devastated some, Google was worth more than $120 billion”

and Google will continue to be the “victor” because we have become so reliant on it, but not in a bad way. It has made our life easier and more efficient. It’s hard not to think of something Google can’t do. With the world advancing, Google is just what we need to help us keep up

Although Brin and Page don’t have a Twitter, Google does. It seems like the company tweets a lot about social and events and issues to keep in loop with the community. Something I found very interesting was the involvement of YouTube personalities with the GOP debate. I think this might be to influence young voters. Furthermore, it seems like big companies like Google and Facebook are always involved with the presidential election.
