Nobody Has A Gun To Your Head

Today’s Daily Stoic Meditation outlines that every noble deed you do is entirely voluntarily.

It is of your own accord — nobody has a gun to your head.

“Nothing is noble if it’s done unwillingly or under compulsion. Every noble deed is voluntary.”

— SENECA, MORAL LETTERS, 66.16b

Noble Deed

What exactly is a noble deed?

A noble deed is simply an act done out of goodwill, kindness and courage.

It is a good act that helps people out!

Nobody Has A Gun To Your Head

Nobody has a gun to your head.

Nobody is forcing you to do noble deeds.

If an act is done under compulsion, it is not good and noble.

However, if that act is done entirely voluntarily from a place of goodwill, it is noble.

Noble acts that are done simply out of the desire to be good are what the world needs more of!

Your Choice

This means you have the freedom of choice.

You can choose whether or not you want to do good deeds, or whether you want to sit on the sidelines.

You can choose if you want to be kind and gentle, or bitter and rotten.

It is all your choice.

Will you make the right choice?
