Want Nothing, Have Everything
Today’s Daily Stoic Meditation outlines a great mindset;
- Want nothing
- Have Everything
“No person has the power to have everything they want, but it is in their power not to want what they don’t have, and to cheerfully put to good use what they do have.”
— SENECA, MORAL LETTERS, 123.3
The Mindset
Seneca outlines a powerful mindset that aids you in all areas of life!
- Want nothing
- Have Everything
The two parts to this mindset work together — you cannot have one without the other.
Want nothing — the act of being entirely content with what you do have, and not wanting more.
Have everything — you’ll have everything if you do not want more, especially the things you cannot have, and put to good use what you do have!
Why?
This mindset is incredibly crucial and key within life.
This mindset aids with;
- Progress
- Clarity
- Action
- Growth
- Success
- Joy
This mindset enables you to act as a good person, succeeding and achieving greatness.
It prevents you from falling into the trap of constantly longing what you don’t have!
Want Nothing
Want nothing — the act of being entirely content with what you do have, and not wanting more.
This is a deep contentment and happiness with what you do have.
You recognise that it is futile to want more — you are happy with what you already possess!
Have Everything
Have everything — you’ll have everything if you do not want more, especially the things you cannot have, and put to good use what you do have!
When you forgo the longing for what you don’t have, you recognise that everything you could ever want is already in your possession!
When you want nothing more, you have everything.
You can then put that great abundance to good use!
