Welcome to Medium International

Starring the coolest things happening on the platform all over the world

You may know Medium from some of the best stories and thoughts you've read in English. But in reality it's a truly borderless, global platform, with millions of readers and writers in Latin America, Europe, and Asia.

There’s a rapidly growing number of developing stories on Medium in languages other than English, and we want more people to know about them.

Through Medium International, we want to help elevate voices from around the world by enabling meaningful, global conversations. We’ll include full translations in English from other languages, as well as writing about interesting Medium users and aggregating cool posts in other languages.

In this publication, we’re going to highlight how people all over the world are using Medium in creative and innovative ways. From the Cuban tech scene to Zika's spread in Brazil to journalism innovation in Turkey to the struggle for gay rights in Italy, we have a lot in the pipeline.

We’re also going to use it to house translations of our new international projects across languages and countries.

Medium has language community managers around the world running official publications in Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French, German, Russian, Turkish, Polish, and Japanese. There are also user-run publications in at least 16 other languages.

We want to continue translating great English content into other languages. But we hope to go a step further by showcasing more international efforts translated in English.
