In case you missed it:

  • Opening a story will automatically scroll you to your previous location in the story, so you can pick up where you left off.
  • You can now find (and read!) all of our latest collections of stories from a convenient carousel on your homepage.

We’ve reduced clutter on the story page so readers can focus on what’s most important: the story! We’ve also improved the performance of opening very long stories, made links less susceptible to accidental taps while scrolling, and made the resume reading experience more reliable.

Spooky sharing of skele-collections sends shivers down your spine.

In this release, we added the ability to share collections and fixed some truly frightening bugs. Happy Halloween!

  • Discover similar stories within a topic by tapping the topic name at the top of the story.
  • Bug fixes!

We’ve continued to remove clutter from the story page, so you can focus on what matters most when reading in the Medium app: the amazing stories and ideas.

New in this release:

  • We’ve moved the author byline so it’s more integrated with the content of the story.
  • You can now access audio content for a story from the top bar of the story page, which makes it easier to access from any point in the story. Just scroll up a little to reveal the top bar again.
  • Display settings have been moved to the bottom bar of the story page, which makes it even easier to toggle night mode or change the font size while you’re reading!
