My experiences as an exchange student at UCLA

After a bumpy start, I enjoyed my time at UCLA

Starting point

I have a degree in business administration and thought during my studies that a stay abroad could be useful. On the one hand for personal development and on the other hand for finding a job later on.

Due to my language skills, only a stay abroad in an English-speaking country came into question. And I quickly decided on the USA.
First, I applied for a partial scholarship at the partner university in Massachusetts. With this partial scholarship, I would have been able to study for two semesters at the American partner university. Unfortunately, I did not get a partial scholarship.

Then I became aware of an organization that arranged stays at American universities during the summer sessions. They offered language courses as well as undergraduate and graduate courses at different universities. And again, it didn’t take me long to decide where I wanted to go: Los Angeles. This organization took care of the registration at the chosen university and I had to get a visa, pass the required English test and chew the plane ticket. And of course, I had to pay for the whole thing.
