It is with great pleasure that we announce our partnership with Wyre to integrate USD payments on OpenCare. As we move forward with the rollout of OpenCare to physicians and patients, it is imperative that those unfamiliar with digital assets or cryptocurrency can easily use the dApp. One of those barriers (for now) is the requirement to own cryptocurrency.

Now with the Wyre widget, users on OpenCare can pay in USD. While users retain the options to pay or receive payment on OpenCare with DAI or ETH, users and clinics can now also link bank accounts in order to pay or receive payments in fiat.

On the front end, the widget appears as shown in the payment panel:

With Wyre’s simple onboarding process, users are able to use USD to obtain DAI, which then enters the OpenCare smart contracts. DAI token passes along the rails of the smart contracts to the physician in exchange for services, and the physician is able to withdraw either DAI token or USD.
