Background: Lymphoma is a general term for cancers that develop in the lymphatic system. Lymphomas that do not start in white blood cells are called non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. In non-Hodgkin lymphoma, the affected lymphocytes start to multiply in an abnormal way and begin to collect in certain parts of the lymphatic system, such as the lymph nodes (glands).

Clinical History: Known case of NHL diagnosed on March 02, 2019. The patient underwent biopsy of calf muscles. Histopathology showed diffuse large cell lymphoma, high grade. PET/CT scan was needed for base line study.

Our finding: NECK: Physiological uptake is seen in the salivary gland, tonsils and vocal cords. CHEST: Multiple FDG avid lymph nodes are seen in the anterior mediastinum along the right para-tracheal region extending upto the level of the carina. ABDOMEN AND PELVIS: There are multiple intensely FDG avid lymph nodes seen in the abdomen and pelvis. SKELETAL SYSTEM: Multiple FDG avid soft tissue density masses are seen involving the muscles of the posterior aspect of knee joint at supracondylar region and extending down over the popliteal fossa and into the upper part of the calf muscles.

Conclusions: These results suggest FDG avid nodal mass in the mediastinum, abdominopelvic cavity and in left lower limb. On Deauville 5 point PET/CT scale the study is rated at 5.
