The Check team is pleased to introduce two new types of tasks for Check media items: one for inquiring about date and time, and the other for inquiring about the location of the incident in the media item.

These tasks allow you to set a question for your team to respond to, such as “Where was this video filmed?” for the geolocation task or “When did this incident occur?” for the date and time one.

*Request early access to Check here.*

It’s easy to set up these tasks for media items on your team. You just need to visit the media item page and click “Add task”. Then you have to choose a type from the list, either location or date and time:

In order to complete a location task, users need to add a custom location name and zoom in to locate it on the map to automatically fill in the coordinates. They can also paste in standard lat/long coordinates from tools like Google Maps and Open Street Maps.

In order to resolve a date and time task, users need to set a date from a calendar pop up and optionally add a time with a timezone.

Interested to see how these tasks work? Go ahead and try them on your Check team.

If you work in digital media and want to try out Check as a way to streamline and coordinate your social news gathering and verification workflow, request early access to Check here.
