Our Bengaluru resellers come together for Mission Rise Women Entrepreneur Summit

Meesho takes pride in the success of its resellers (Meesho entrepreneurs). After all, one of our core values is Make Resellers Successful, and everything we do in the company is aimed at that. So, when it comes to encouraging them, rewarding them for their accomplishments and acknowledging their growth, we do not shy away. One of the biggest celebrations of the resellers that we have is the offline Mission Rise Women Entrepreneur Summit that we host all over the country. In cities such as Pune, Coimbatore, Kolkata, Agartala, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Ludhiana, Mumbai, Surat, New Delhi, and Nashik among several others, we have invited our entrepreneurs to come and join us in our celebration of their journey at Meesho. After 24 such events, pan India, we hosted our biggest and most ambitious one yet in Bengaluru on January 29, 2020.

Hosted at the Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway, Mission Rise Bengaluru was nothing short of a homecoming for us, seeing as our company took wings in this city. As our CEO and Co-Founder Vidit Aatrey pointed out in his keynote speech during the event, ‘Bengaluru after all is home to innovation and entrepreneurship’. This city made Meesho’s dream of giving anyone in India a chance to start a business with zero investment come true, and the strength in numbers of the resellers that attended the event with their loved ones is a homage to that.

While every Mission Rise event is special to us, the Bengaluru edition has proved to be unique in many ways. Find out how Mission Rise Bengaluru proved to be our biggest event yet.

Record reseller turnout

Mission Rise Bengaluru saw the biggest footfall of all 24 events that we have hosted, with a total of 239 entrepreneurs attending. And 130 among them also happen to be Meesho VIP Resellers, who are some of our biggest businesswomen in the last month.

All of these impressive, inspiring women had come to the Sheraton hotel with the goal of connecting with fellow resellers, understanding how they can tweak and tinker with their current business model, and more importantly celebrate themselves and each other for achieving financial independence and gaining a loyal customer base by making no financial investment.

Team Meesho Gets Inspired by Meesho Resellers

We make sure that at least a couple of Meesho employees attend every Mission Rise event no matter where it is held, especially those from the Activation & Community team. However, this time around, we had a record representation of 100 Meeshoites who were at the venue of Mission Rise Bengaluru to celebrate our hometown resellers.

Content writers to designers and marketing team members were in attendance along with all the top management, including our CEO and Co Founder Vidit, CTO and Co Founder Sanjeev Barnwal, General Manager & VP — Fulfilment, Reseller Identity and Experience Harshit Madan, VP — Product, Discovery and Personalisation Movin Jain, and Chief of Staff Megha Agarwal.

Winning big

It is important to us that all of our resellers feel encouraged and motivated to do better, which is why we organise mini award shows within our Mission Rise events. Our Bengaluru chapter was no different, but we did take it a few notches higher with a total of 15 awards presented during the function, along with other rewards given out through fun games and friendly competitions.

Six of the eleven awards were given out to our resellers who have given the highest number of orders and Jully Shah stood first in this category with a whopping 3,751 orders. Five other resellers were given Emerging Resellers awards for the newer resellers who have joined our fold, and this category saw Hemalatha taking the lead with 1,202 orders. Four of our veteran resellers, who are now mentors, namely Jayashree C, Alfi Enayt, Lavanya V and Shafeena were felicitated for being top mentors too.

Biggest congregation of people at any Mission Rise Event

Mission Rise Events are generally a place where family members of resellers get to see how valued they are in our community. At the Bengaluru Mission Rise, we saw not only the highest turnout of resellers and Meesho employees, but also of resellers’ families.

A vast majority of our resellers are actually women, and stay-at-home mothers and wives at that. Their accomplishments have definitely not gone unnoticed because their supportive husbands, in-laws, and mothers were present at Mission Rise taking care of the young ones as the mothers shone on stage. We saw just how proud the dear and near were of our resellers.

Many husbands who were on baby duty were seen cheering their successful wives on. From the way their wives thanked them for their support and encouragement, it’s clear that these great men are behind these successful women. In fact, one of our most successful resellers, Jhansi Anthony, revealed it was her husband that turned her to Meesho App because he didn’t want both parents working away from home soon after their child was born.

In total, the venue saw a footfall of 620 people, all of whom came under the same room because of one group of people — our awesome resellers.

Inspiring resellers and their incredible stories

At every Mission Rise event, we get to meet some incredible resellers who are committed to becoming financially independent and investing their skills and time into becoming successful Meesho resellers. The Bengaluru Mission Rise, also gave a platform to some amazing women like Kanchana who came all the way from Chennai. She spoke of losing her son prematurely and how she turned to different jobs to keep herself busy, including being a Rapido rider and Amazon delivery person before becoming a Meesho reseller.

Another reseller, who came for Mission Rise all the way from North Karnataka, revealed that she is an MCom student, who is now also a Meesho entrepreneur and is helping out her family with their financial needs. Yet another reseller revealed her story of breaking her leg while on vacation with family and how she struggled to pay her medical bills. Thanks to Meesho and the business opportunity it offered her, she is now able to pay for her own medical needs.

Many mothers who felt that they had to choose motherhood over their identity and financial independence, found out through Meesho app that they can, in fact do it all. It is hard not to hear these women’s stories and not feel our hearts fill with pride and joy.

Mission Rise Bengaluru filled a lot of us Meeshoites with the inspiration to work harder at what we do, because we got to see how our work translates into the success of these hardworking women. Their success is our True North, and it was a joy to felicitate and reward them for all that they have achieved not only as Meesho resellers but also as businesswomen in their own rights.
