In the wake of the Indian government’s announcement that vaccines will be rolled out for all citizens above the age of 18 from May 1 onwards, Meesho has tied up with partners across the country to arrange for vaccination drives free of charge for all the employees and their dependents starting May first.

Meesho, being one of the first companies to implement work from home when the first pandemic-driven lockdown was announced in March 2020, wants to ensure that all employees get their vaccinations done in a way that is most convenient for them. This means access to the vaccine in their hometowns without having to fear much longer for their own safety or that of their loved ones. This is what Meesho’s vaccination drive hopes to achieve.

During the course of the lockdown, Meesho has introduced a wide range of employee benefit programmes ranging from a tie-up with YourDost, online counselling and emotional wellness coach, to launching Learnovate, a free and self-paced learning and development platform where Meeshoites to upskill themselves in a host of courses.

“At Meesho, we always put our employees first. Now, with the growing number of covid cases each day, we wanted Meeshoites to be rest assured that we will always have their back. We have known for a while that we wanted to cover the vaccination charges for all Meeshoites and their family, and once the government announced that everyone 18 and above will be eligible to get vaccinated in Phase 3, we related our decision to all employees right away. I hope that all employees are able to get vaccinated as soon as possible and this helps to alleviate all covid-related fear and stressors.” — Vidit Aatrey, Co Founder and CEO, Meesho.

There is a huge rise in the number of Covid cases across the country, with fatality rates increasing at an alarming amount. This initiative by Meesho’s will not only ensure the safety of its employees, it’s no 1 priority at the moment, but it will also be a big initiative towards fighting the battle against Covid -19.
