Read on to find out who the talented musicians of Meesho are:

“Music is not just a hobby for me. I have been a piano accompanist and a singer learning and teaching music for years. I have been a music tutor, training students for the Trinity College of London, completing the ATCL Diploma in Western Classical Piano and Grade 8 in Theory of Music and Western Voice.

I love teaching music, conducting choirs, arranging and harmonising music, and try to make time for this whenever I can.” — Matthew Dilip John, Chief Of Staff — O/R

“I fell in love with music — specifically old Bollywood songs — when I was five thanks to the tape recorder and cassettes at home that introduced me to the legendary songs of Rafi sahab, Kishore da, Lata ji, and so on. That music gave me peace and carried me off to another world.

Over time, I started performing at my school and eventually in college. My friends and professors have always been encouraging of my singing, and that always kept me going even though I do not have any formal training in music. I always try to sing from the heart and thankfully it resonates with my audience. Moreover, it gives me the positivity and peace I need to go about my day.” — Mihir Swain, Key Account Manager — Farmiso

“Music to me is therapeutic. Carnatic music specifically has ragas for all emotions, so whether I am sad or happy singing is what calms me down. I have always been a huge fan of Carnatic music, but until the lockdown began I did not have the opportunity to learn it. Now I am honing my skills through music lessons and I could not be happier about it.” — Roopa Srinivasa, Employee Engagement Manager & EA to CEO

“My Vellyamma who was fascinated with my long fingers nudged to start learning how to play the veena. After she passed away, I started learning the instrument as a homage to her. Although I learnt consistently for nine years, now I only get the opportunity to brush up every now and then with my teachers. I used to perform at my school and college, and also, at various temple festivals, especially during the Navratri period.

I feel spiritually connected to the veena. When I am playing the veena, I feel the closest to god.” — Sharanya Bala, Senior Executive Assistant — Tech

“Music is not just a hobby for me. It is my passion. It’s not just about some trend. It’s about sharing the values of life with everyone. I have played music since I was six years old, and the guitar is the first instrument that I played, with my uncle as my first teacher. He taught me all about smooth jazz, which is my favourite genre. Over time, I also learned how to play the bass, drums, and finally found my real passion — playing the piano.

I find inspiration in the likes of Michael Jackson, Bob James, Kirk Whalum and Keith Jarret.

Currently, I am in a band with my wife, and we call ourselves DNA. We have released three songs so far. I also run a music entertainment company that can be hired for wedding ceremonies, corporate gatherings, etc called Kevin & Friends Entertainment.” — Christian Kevin, Account Manager — Meesho Indonesia
