We flew from Ambon to Makassar, Indonesia: 25 March 2023
Travel Diary in Southeast Asia
--
We arrived in Ambon by boat this morning and went straight to the airport. There we bought tickets to Makassar and boarded the plane.

We used an Indonesian airline called Lion Air. Tomorrow, we will fly from Makassar to Singapore with Batik Air, another airline in the same group. Finally, we are leaving Indonesia.
The reason why we flew all the way to Makassar is because there are cheap flights from Makassar International Airport to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Batik Air flies to Singapore and Air Asia flies to Kuala Lumpur.
However, when we asked at the ticket counter at Makassar Airport, we were told that the Air Asia flight to Kuala Lumpur, which was supposed to leave tomorrow, had been cancelled (although it still came up when I searched online), and that Singapore was the only way to leave tomorrow. Flight ID7294 departs Makassar at 11.15am and arrives in Singapore at 2pm. There is no time difference between Singapore and Makassar.
We will stay overnight in Singapore that day and fly from Singapore to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) the next day. We have already booked tickets online with Bamboo Air. Flight QH308 departs Singapore at 1:40pm and is scheduled to arrive in Saigon at 3:10pm.
