Say hello to the Cleo US Alpha 🇺🇸 Here’s how we built and launched a successful US product in 6 days…

Cleo launched in the US of A two weeks ago. It’s been a trip. Numberless cups of coffee drunk. Hundreds of banks integrated. Some hurried moments replacing ‘s’s with ‘z’s. A lot of Cardi B.

It’s going… really great. More than 1000 people a day are signing up to the US Alpha. We launched with an early-stage product, and it’s improving at incredible pace with the help of a fantastic, rapidly growing community of American users.

In the UK, Cleo helps 150,000 people simplify their money every day —but the problem we’re solving is global. We’re out to help radically improve the financial lives of a generation. The US is a (big) first step in a journey that spans the world. Cleo la revolución.

• Start to finish, we built the US Alpha in 6 days. No big deal 💅
• We worked fast to localise Cleo to US time zones. Now, she’s personalised from North Carolina to Oregon.
• We have a new US banking partner! Plaid. The integration took… a fair few hours of engineering time. They partner with big banks like Goldman Sachs and Citibank, companies like Transferwise — and now us.
• With the help of Plaid, Cleo has integrated with approx 600 US banks and counting. Welcome, patrons of Old Hickory Credit Union!
• 1000+ new users are signing up per day. We’ve seen 160% week on week growth.
• The most frequented merchant in the UK? — Tesco. The most frequented merchant in the US? — Venmo.
• Miss Cleo is a thing we didn’t know existed. *shrug emoji*
• We tried Bud Light for the novelty. Then reverted stubbornly to red wine.
