Quick update: we’ve had a busy week just gone, but it’s been fantastic getting out and gathering feedback as we push closer to release next year. The above shot was snapped with our new Pixel 2 in between meetings this week, we may be in love… (but more on that next time!)

We’ve been having a lot of fun showing people what #VRforWork means over the past few weeks. On the home front we have spent a lot of time in Cork and Dublin the past month, as well as a lot of virtual coffee’s in the US and Europe the past week — all without the hassle of airport check-ins ;) If you’re interested in bringing a session to your office or want more information, get in touch @ hi@meetingRoom.io

Whitepaper Update

Back in March we held a study to explore the difference between Virtual Reality and Video Communications — good news, we’re nearly ready to release! If you’re interested in finding out the results, follow the link below.

Pitching time!

The past week was competition time! We were in Dun Laoghaire for Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur on Monday, Liffey Valley for the Local Enterprise Innovation Fund on Wednesday and finally Crane Lane for the NDRC Catalyzer pitch. We had a lot of fun spreading the good word and the best of luck to all teams pitching, we had a blast getting to know some amazing teams over the past few weeks.

We had a boost this week at Startup Boost (pardon the pun, we blame Gene Murphy’s influence!) with some fantastic advice on pitching and storytelling from Ed Fidgeon-Kavanagh. We returned to Google HQ for another session on honing our message. As we hit the halfway mark we are seeing amazing results and learning more from the other teams involved, it’s a useful way to spend a Wednesday evening in Dublin.

Startup Grind Dublin

This Monday evening gone we were lucky enough to spend the evening listening to David Scanloninterviewing Brian Norton of Future Finance on the up, down and highs of startup life. We heard a lot on worklife balance and the need for it despite the pressures of building a business, and that it’s a journey not a sprint. All in all one of the better talks we’ve been to in Dublin, and Startup Grind has loyal new attendees — looking forward to the next event!

New Toys

We’ve been like kids at Christmas with all the new arrivals. The newest member of our family is the Google Pixel 2 and updated Daydream View, which we are busy playing and testing at the moment, more coming after we’ve had a week to use them!
