The Wedding — Behind the Scenes

Ever wondered what happens behind those beautiful flower arrangements and that lavishly set table and the smiling faces of the bride and groom? I don’t suppose you assume that they met, fell in love and simply came here to get married, all of it being a one day affair right? The truth is that every wedding is a work of art that little girls plan for and get inspired by. Here is a little insight into what goes on behind the camera.

1. Setting the Date:
Sure now you are engaged to be married but have you decided the date yet? It can’t clash with your brother’s exams nor can it be during the monsoons with the rains are sure to dampen your wedding spirits. So what is the perfect date? That simple question my friend in itself is a lot of work.

2. Sending Out the Invitations:
It’s not that simple as it sounds. There needs to be the right card, artistically made to reflect the bride and groom’s personal style. The guest list shouldn’t miss out on anyone if it’s a wedding for the entire extended family and if it’s a smaller ceremony then the task becomes more complex, you have to let go of people you want to invite but can’t because of the number constriction. There is a lot of planning behind that beautiful invite you receive.

3. Picking the Venue:
There are a hundred venues but which one will you go for? What suits your budget and taste? What will be ideal for clicking your perfect wedding pictures? These are a few of the gazillion questions that run through your head when you go on a venue hunt. It’s not a one day process — its hours of research and days of work for that perfect venue.

4. Keeping the Guests Happy:
The people you have invited need to be taken care of as well. From the food to the drinks nobody should have a single thing to fall short on. The guests have to be greeted when they come and seen off when they leave. They need to feel welcomed and made to feel important on your important day as well. Their blessing is invaluable and that’s all we want don’t we

5. Planning the Wedding Day:
Everything needs to be synchronized and on time. The flowers need to arrive on time. The bridesmaids need to be dressed and on time. From the bride’s make up to the groom’s tux everything needs to be on flee on the biggest day of their lives. The lights need to be right, the weather needs to be right, and the photographer needs to be at all the right places at the right time. It really isn’t an easy show.
