You know that scene in Mean Girls where Amy Poehler as Regina George’s mom, Mrs. uh, George, declares herself a “cool mom” and pretends to be “girlfriends” with her daughter’s high-school aged friends and everyone is mortified?

Now imagine, for a second, that this isn’t a movie, this is real life, except your mom isn’t weirdly, bizarrely friends with your bros, she’s weirdly, bizarrely friendly with your ex — and won’t take “but maaaaahhmmm, we broke up,” for an answer. That’s pretty much what’s going on with this Lauren Vinopal piece.

Cool moms are weird.
