Accelerate your startup with MAP
MAP’s vision is to enhance the culture of entrepreneurship.
Each year, 10 teams are selected to take part in our five-month Startup Accelerator, for Founders who want to take their startup to the next level.
While there is no formula for startup success, MAP supports you in a number of ways to help increase the probability of building traction for your startup.
This starts with access to mentoring from some of Australia’s most brilliant business minds. Backed by the University of Melbourne, MAP gives you the right connections through our industry partners, and the wider community, that supports your startup’s growth.
Throughout the program, MAP not only supports your startup, but you — as a Founder. We focus intently on the well-being of our Founders to ensure they are operating at their peak, while they drive for results in their startup.
Once you finish the program, you are part of the MAP family. With over 60 startups that have gone through the accelerator, our Alumni is growing, and they continue to receive support from MAP, the University and most importantly, each other.
MAP also provides financial support to Founders. Startups receive $20,000 funding (no equity taken) with free co-working space. Through our partners, startups also receive free or discounted offerings that can save you thousands. This all contributes to the runway you need to get your startup off the ground.
Types of companies we seek
Startups accepted in the program have typically — at a minimum — done comprehensive customer validation and can demonstrate they’re solving a real problem.
Ideally, Founders have achieved some early traction and are looking to expedite their growth.
The types of startups we like to see are those working on big problems, particularly those focused on Social Impact startups tackling societal or environmental issues.
MAP has also seen some incredible female Founders come through the program, and we are intent on increasing the number of female entrepreneurs in in our accelerator.
When do applications open?
Applications are now open for the 2019 Melbourne Accelerator Program, closing midnight (AEST) on 7 April.
