We’re thrilled to kick off the second MAP Velocity cohort for 2023! With 19 businesses and 28 founders from a range of industries, these early-stage startups are set to make significant impact with their innovative ideas. Our cohort covers healthcare, real estate, education, environmental challenges and legal technology, exploring solutions in their respective fields. From solutions that have the potential to revolutionise patient care control, to real estate ventures that could redefine property management, these initiatives showcase the dynamic spirit of this MAP Velocity cohort.

2023 MAP Velocity Summer Cohort at Melbourne Connect

MAP Velocity, an 11-week pre-accelerator program, is designed to empower early-stage founders by honing their skills in customer discovery and market validation. This year marks the second consecutive year that we’ve been able to run two Velocity programs, a testament to the incredible entrepreneurial talent that we’ve had the privilege to work with.

The program combines expert speakers, founder stories and group activities that guide our teams through the journey of engaging with initial customers to defining their value proposition.

Meet our new Velocity Program Manager, Katrina Gaskin

We are excited to welcome Katrina Gaskin, who is leading the charge as the Program Manager for this Velocity cohort. Katrina brings expertise in entrepreneurship, design thinking and sustainable processes. With her wealth of experience in the startup ecosystem and passion for fostering innovation, Katrina is the perfect addition to the MAP Velocity team.

“The core of MAP Velocity is to empower early-stage entrepreneurs by providing them with the essential tools and networks required to evaluate and enhance any business concept. The central theme revolves around nurturing Founders to unleash their potential, aiming to inspire active involvement and interaction with their startups but also their cohort community.

Throughout the summer program, they have actively engaged in every phase of the process, ranging from in-depth analysis of their customers’ challenges to clearly defining what their offering is or should be, and even reaching out to potential clients or stakeholders via cold calling. It has been an incredible experience collaborating with them, and I am excited to watch the continued success of their startups beyond their time in Velocity.” — Katrina Gaskin
