News: Meet Melissa Allegories

I recently had the opportunity to interview with Bold Journey, and reflecting on this experience, along with previous interviews, has allowed me to delve even deeper into my motivations and direction. Thanks to the Broward County Cultural Division for this incredible chance to manifest my vision, and a heartfelt acknowledgment to Kandy G Lopez for opening doors and fostering my comfort in this journey.

Her ability to create profound art in a modest space resonated with me. Discussing my limited space, I highlighted Kandy Lopez’s insights, whose influence has transformed my perspective of my workspace — from feelings of embarrassment to empowerment.

Transitioning beyond traditional norms, I identify as a contemporary, conceptual, and functional artist, a 21st-century symbolist/illuminator, and a storyteller encompassing roles as an author, illustrator, and designer.
