Acuform Architecture Efficiently Stores All Project Info in One Single Memento App

One of our loyal customers, Acuform Architecture is a Texas, U.S. based firm founded to manage all aspects of building design and construction. From initial site selections to general construction, the company takes good care of the full flow of the projects they are hired for. The team is usually responsible for daily activities of an average of 40–100 people at a time including engineers and constructors.

As assumed, Acuform is responsible for receiving, managing, and disseminating a large volume of data on each project. Before using the Memento app, the company had the primary challenge of disconnected information while managing their complex projects.

“Our team spends a great deal of time looking for pertinent information (generally buried among thousands of emails and amidst several different software applications)”, shares the founder of the company, Aaron Dahl.

Successful adaption of Memento has brought great results already

As Acuform adapted Memento, the team was able to store all basic project information in one single app.

“We track every project (normally between 50–60 projects) maintaining project status, companies, and individuals involved, various market indicators of each project (size and budgets) and dates”, continues Dahl.

Starting from the very beginning of a project, when the team carries out negotiations on the contract and starts working with the new clients, they begin to receive a measurable amount of information. While each of the team members is responsible for storing their share of information, the main issue remains to keep it available and open for everyone.

Acuform was selected to provide design and construction related services for a new flagship Caterpillar sales and service facility in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex

As the project moves on to the implementation phase, and more team members start to get involved in the process, storing and sharing information becomes even more challenging. Hence, for example, the project manager needs to be aware of the entire flow of the implementation process including both in the construction site and in the office. At the same time, it is important for the manager to be also able to efficiently pass the information on to other team members and make necessary adjustments on the way.

And, so this is why it is very important for the company to have one single flexible platform on which to store and share all the information of the project to which all the involved team members may have access at any point of the project.

In addition to the project implementation process, the team currently uses Memento to also track such construction related activities as regulatory approvals, project submittals, quality assurance checks, and field observations. The company also found great use of Memento’s Google Sheets sync functions; they are able to efficiently store data and produce industry standard and firm-wide reports.

While the team claims that it is simple to use and work on the already available libraries that are found in the Memento app, they are also investing more time into making them as customized as possible.

“We’ve also started developing libraries to assist with other aspects of our workflow including product design information, project specifications, and code related requirements”, confirms Dahl.

There is more to come in the future

While Memento is already working pretty well for Acuform, the company is actually looking through further applications of the app. As the team greatly values efficient communication, primarily, they are looking into scripts and triggers which may be able to allow them to communicate via email or even SMS reminders.

“Additionally, we have started investigating the Jasper Reports integration with Memento Database and feel this will be a great addition to our application eventually offering us the ability to generate professional reports from our mobile devices keeping our team nimble and freeing up valuable time for more important things than paperwork”, concluded Dahl.

Great flexibility with Memento

Due to a list of features that Memento currently offers, it becomes easier to achieve important flexibility when it comes to adjusting the app for different types of businesses. Acuform Architecture is just one of our happy clients who enjoy important results of using the app efficiently. There is still a list of opportunities of Memento to be discovered for specific businesses, and success stories like of Acuform can open ways to do that. We will keep sharing inspiring stories of our clients that you may find useful for your own business as well.
