Factoid Or Fact
No it can not be seen from space
Factoid: contemporary culture claims that the Great Wall can be seen from outer-space. Reality: The Great Wall cannot be seen by the naked eye from the Moon. Although this myth has been debunked, it remains part of popular culture. In 2012, based on research and results of a mapping survey, the National Cultural Heritage Administration of China concluded that surviving Great Wall and its associated portions include 10,051 wall sections,1,764 ramparts, 29,510 individual buildings, and 2,211 fortifications with walls. The Ming Great Wall measures close to 5,500 miles and comprised of 3,889 miles of wall and 223 miles of trenches.
Having seen the wall for myself, it’s impossible to accept that it can NOT be seen from the moon. To take it in visually as far as the eye can see truly is mind-boggling!
