Thomas Buergenthal, who was sent to Auschwitz and survived a death march and forced labor, has long been connected to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. He served as an advisor to the President’s Commission on the Holocaust, which in 1979 recommended creation of the Museum. He later led the Museum’s Committee on Conscience.

Buergenthal recently attended a special screening at the Museum of Peace Through Justice, a new film documenting his life and legacy, and spent a few minutes speaking with Memory & Action.
