How to Join
The Shed is free to join. We invite members to provide, source and help raise donations for tools and materials for personal and group projects.
If you decide you would like to become a Shedder, your first step is to complete a confidential registration form. This enables us to make sure that you are kept safe while you are on our premises but also helps us to understand your skills and experience and why you would like to join the Shed.
You will then be able to arrange an introduction session which involves a tour and induction on using the space safely and responsibly. There will be some practical elements to the introduction. You will be required to sign some paperwork to say that you’ve completed and understood the induction.
Once you’ve completed an introduction session, you will become a Men in Sheds Brighton Shedder, and can drop in to use the Shed during our operating hours.
All forms are held securely and all information is treated confidentially. We also have some policies in place which are important in maintaining a safe environment. The Shed Health & Safety Plan and Code of Conduct makes clear the standards of behaviour expected by everyone attending Men in Sheds Brighton, and what you can expect in return.
The Brighton Shed is part of UOK, a network of local services committed to supporting good mental health and wellbeing in Brighton and Hove.
