We live in the era of misinformation! This was bound to happen when we entered the “digital age” or “information age” some time ago. The 1997 James Bond film, Tomorrow Never Dies, predicted the whole thing quite accurately, when the interwebs were still new and the only social media people had was email.

Well, we have fake news and alternative facts… there’s nothign to be done about that. Or is there? Of course there is! Why not exploit people’s hunger for invented information and create a deceptive dictionary?

With that in mind, we’ve started our Menagerie of Made-up Morphemes, where our imagination runs wild concocting fictitious words and their definitions.

We’re bound by one caveat: The New York Times’ Spelling Bee game.

Why?, you ask.

Why not?, we answer.

Which on this platform should be enough. But if it isn’t, the main reason I can offer is that I play the Spelling Bee on a daily basis, and I already have another publication, Silly Little Dictionary!, about real words that come from it… real words that aren’t accepted as answers, however.
