The Brabus 900 is a beast

The maniacs at German car tuner Brabus are back with another high-octane revamp. They’ve immortalized the Mercedes-AMG G65 into what it calls the most powerful off-roader the world has ever seen.
At 5,700 pounds and more than 15 feet long, we thought the Mercedes G65 and its 621-HP turbocharged 12-cylinder engine was the definition of large and in charge.
It might be big and bulky, but this beast can shift. The vehicle requires just 3.9 seconds for the 0–100km/h (62mph) sprint — that’s 1.4 seconds faster than the original model.
Only 10 units of this SUV will be made, which is just as well because we can only imagine the damage this thing will do on the streets. Inside, opulent leather features have been added, along with all sorts of mod cons, including a center console featuring 4.3-inch touch panels, cup holders, and heating and cooling functions.
But based on the specs of this modified G-class Benz from Brabus, that definition is going to need an update.
It’s the bodywork however that really makes the Brabus 900 a head-turner. A custom carbon bonnet with integrated intake scoop paired with fender flares which add 12cm to the car’s width, LED roof lamps, a spoiler and 23-inch forged wheels all add up to make this one of the meanest and most powerful Brabus off-roaders ever produced.
Unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show, the Brabus 900 features a 6.3-liter twin-turbo engine, which is larger than the original 6-liter. The new engine, coupled with other improvements, bring the rig up to 900 HP and give it a 0–62 time of 3.9 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 168 MPH.
And the price? US$800,000 and limited to just 10 examples. You can put down your deposit and a limb over at Brabus.
