Team Israel Announces WBC Roster

David will be meeting three Goliaths in less than a month. Along with the rest of the field, Team Israel released their 28-man roster with their designated pitcher’s pool on Wednesday for the 2017 World Baseball Classic.

The team consists of a number of players with prior major-league experience. All but one player — Shlomo Lipetz — has played or currently is playing in minor league ball.

Ike Davis is among the players with prior major-league experience that is playing for Team Israel in March. Davis also played for Team Israel during the qualifying round in Brooklyn, New York.

Other key players include Craig Breslow, Ryan Lavarnway, Jason Marquis and Cody Decker. Scott Feldman and Brad Goldberg are among the pitchers that Team Israel has placed in their designated pitcher’s pool, so they could be inserted on to the team’s roster.

Team Israel hopes that there is more of this next month.
