Our Mission

Our mission is to change the perception of mental health. We see a world where people view mental health like physical health and we want to put the world’s first mental health gym on the high street.

Our Belief

We believe that to change the current perceptions around mental health; we must normalise conversations, remove the shame and get people excited about mental health — not scared of it. We must show that working on our mental health is about working to be our full selves.

We exist to enable people to become their full selves.

This video explains what we’re all about, give it a watch and get to know us (we’re not camera shy!)

What we do

We create safe spaces for people to talk about mental health. We do this online, in our community and within the workplace.

Our community talks openly about mental health, we share our own stories and champion the Sanctus mission with pride. We do this by sharing great stories through social media, wearing Sanctus clothing and connecting with each other at Sanctus events.

In the workplace, we partner with businesses to create an open environment where mental health is supported and people can bring their full self to work. We do this through Sanctus Coaching and placing Sanctus Coaches in the workplace.

We’re passionate about making mental health accessible to everyone.

Sanctus was started by two best friends, James and George, so we have friendship, passion and authenticity in our heart. Our movement began with James sharing his story in this blog post called Mental health in startups and we stated our vision for the future here too.

We tell our own story as honestly as we can through regular vlogs, it’s important for people to really be on this journey with us and for us to show that we’re living our values.

Instagram is where we are most active, we share stories, we share quotes and we share our journey too. (We also giveaway things!) Follow us there to connect with us and other people from the Sanctus Community.

We live in the Tea Building in Shoreditch. We run our community events here too, but we travel all over the country to provide Sanctus at work. Our mission is to become a global brand where we make mental health accessible across the world (not just in East London).

Our team aren’t here to pick up their next pay cheque whilst telling you how to live your life. Our operational, partner & content teams make Sanctus tick and our amazing coaching team and community of coaches create the Sanctus space in businesses and beyond.

Sanctus Coaches are like personal trainers for mental health, they’re real genuine humans who want to help people connect to who they really are. They’re not mentors, advisors or executive coaches. They are professional, trusted and experienced coaches who are experts in guiding you and empowering you to process what you’re feeling or work out what step you take next.

Like all good coaches, our boundaries are important to us. We make it really clear what work we do well and what work isn’t right for us within the full spectrum of mental health, this is all in in the interests of safety and integrity. In one line:

You can approach us to talk about anything, but we cannot work with everything.

Our name means “Pure” in Latin and that sums up what we’re all about; we’re all about being pure and being you. We believe that everybody can be themselves and we believe you can do that with good mental health.

If we were to have a tagline, it’d be this:

Be you.

Most businesses try to act bigger than they are; they sell, pitch, promote and present a veneered facade. We don’t, we’re not here to make a quick buck or sell out in 5 years.

Our purpose is eternal, so we’re here for life.

We’d love to have you on the journey with us.
