Overview

  • Part time — 3 fixed days per week with a view to full time
  • London based
  • Salary: £40k — £50k FTE
  • Flexible start date in September/October
  • Values driven, mission led business transforming mental health

Our Mission

Our vision is to put the world’s first mental health gym on the high street and right now we’re putting Sanctus Coaching into the workplace to create environments where people can work on their mental health.

We work with businesses to provide Sanctus Coaching and create safe spaces within businesses for people to work on their mental health with a Sanctus Coach. We’re currently working across 50 different businesses, in 60+ different locations with 30 Sanctus Coaches seeing 1000+ people per month.

Us talking openly about our financial position in Q3/4 2019

Your Mission

Your mission is to own and lead Sanctus’ Finance function in-house with the support of a part time FD and the Founders. You’ll manage the money here and make sure we know where every penny is being spent, with no stone being left unturned.

You’ll manage the basics and see that they are implemented seamlessly. For us this is our monthly coach payments, pay run, expenses, invoices and of course making sure we’re getting paid on time too.

You’ll integrate finance into the business and work closely with our Partner Team to make sure we’re issuing the correct invoices and getting paid on time, and you’ll work with our Coaching Team to ensure the Sanctus Coaches are being paid on time for the incredible work they do.

As well as managing and implementing the day-to-day, you’ll have an oversight of the entire business, working with the Founders and team leads on budgeting, reporting and forecasting. You’ll have an eye on the organisational health of the business and be able to make recommendations on strategic decisions from a finance perspective.

Just like mental health, money is often a taboo topic and that’s not how we want it to be here. We want money to be part of the conversation, just like our feelings and emotions are, you’ll be part of creating a Finance Team that defines how we “do money” here in a way that’s empowering, transparent and inclusive.

The Right Person

This is a Finance role and we want you to be a part of our team, not an outsourced function or an isolated team that just gets sent some invoices and curt emails. Of course, Finance will be your bread and butter and at a minimum we’d expect you to be educated to degree level and minimum part-qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA.

You’ll love a spreadsheet and will have a strong understanding of how to use Google Sheets/Excel to their full capability as well as Xero too. You’ll be incredibly detailed and numbers driven, not letting anything slide and working to the very last penny.

Ideally, you’ll have experience of all parts of the Finance function, so you’ll know the pains and you’ll have seen a lot of the same mistakes before. You’ll be used to working to a deadline and used to meeting them too. Numbers will be your language and you’ll be fluent in them, using them to tell a business narrative and being able to spot mistakes, discrepancies and seeing them as part of the bigger picture.

Core Responsibilities

  • Create and own Sanctus’ in-house finance function
  • Invoice management, reconciliation, management accounts and expenses
  • Managing what gets paid to us and what we pay to others.
  • Cross team collaboration and internal and external communication to stakeholders around financial decisions
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns
  • File Annual accounts for Companies House submission
  • Assist Finance Director with the development of KPI’s and tracking of KPI’s on a monthly basis
  • Budgeting, reporting and forecasting for the organisation and teams.
  • Creating rules and process around finance to encourage informed decision making across the business
  • Financial decision making and expectation management across team and stakeholders
  • Cash and banking responsibilities including making payments and performing bank reconciliations.
  • Comparison of actual to budget information, with analysis including variances and trends
