SNAP 2016: Exam pattern, section-wise tips, tricks and more

Symbiosis International University (SIU) will be conducting SNAP 2016 on December 18, 2016. So its high time now and now we must buckle up to achieve our goal. And we are here to help regarding all the information related to SNAP 2016.

SNAP Exam Pattern 2016

  • Exam is held in pen-paper mode, the exam-takers will be required to mark their answers using blue or black ball point pen only.
  • Duration of the test is 2 hours.
  • Exam will be held in a single session, from 2.00 PM to 4.00 PM.
  • There will be a total of 150 MCQs and the total marks will be 150.
  • Every question will have 4 choices and the candidates will have mark one correct answer out of these.

Questions will be distributed into 4 sections, which are:

  1. General English
  2. Quantitative, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency
  3. Current Affairs
  4. Analytical and Logical Reasoning

SNAP Marking Scheme 2016

  • For marking correct answer = +1
  • For marking incorrect answer = 1/4th of the mark will be deducted

Now we share with you a few tips section-wise that will help you ace the SNAP exam

Tips for Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation Preparation

  • Brush up with your NCERT books from Class 9 to 12.
  • Get comfortable with the numbers by learning fast calculations, practice tables, squares, decimals, etc.
  • Polish your formulas and concepts to be quick in oral calculations.
  • Focus on the basic concepts.

Tips for Verbal Ability Preparation

  • This is the first section of the question paper. Questions from verbal reasoning, comprehension and verbal ability are asked in this section. The language and reading skills are tested in this section.
  • Go for good books, newspapers, magazines, etc. to grab a good hold on vocabulary. Try to pay close attention to the editorial section of the newspapers.
  • Learn at least 30 words daily and its usages in sentences or phrases.
  • Keep a dictionary along with you whenever you read something.

Tips for Logical Reasoning Preparation

  • Trickiest section of the question paper is this one. As the name suggests, this section consists of questions that test the candidate’s analytical and logical skills.
  • Use your commen sense along with the logic.
  • Be alert and keep presence of mind.
  • To prepare for this section, candidates must practice the topics. Go for good books on puzzles and reasoning.
  • Practice previous year question papers and sample papers.

Tips for General Awareness Preparation

  • Read the newspapers, newsmagazines, yearbooks, etc daily
  • Be updated with the news of last 2 years atleast. No static GK questions will be asked.
  • Keep yourself aware and updated on various topics such as the economy, business, current affairs, politics, sports and other miscellaneous national and international events.
  • In short stay updated about the outside world.
