In a group of five,

a little boy started to cry.

Four fell silent then,

observed the fifth one, and,

told him to stop, “Are you a girl?” they mocked.

And so a seed was sown,

for generations to reap,

of suppressed emotions and grief.

Today in a group of five,

a little boy again started to cry.

The four fell silent again,

but today, they felt the fifth one’s pain.

They stood by him, as he cried to his heart’s content,

And so a new seed was sown,

for generations to reap,

of expressing emotions and grief.
