A Disease and A Cure

A vampire poem

A man about to bite the neck of a woman. Both have a gothic-like make-up and the man has a rose tattoo on his hand.

We abhor the light but yearn for the dark
we avoid water and crave blood
our skin is pale, we barely have a pulse
we dash into the night like a flood

Creatures of the darkest dreams we are
immortal, wise, strong and undead
we can smell human flesh from afar
and to all mortals we spread dread

Some people claim we are merely sick…
