Introducing: Dust Beta

The timing has never been this ripe to refocus our mission of being a no-frills, ultra-secure, and easy to use messenger app. Today’s digital climate demands data privacy, security, and most of all peace of mind. After the deluge of data breaches, scandals, and scams it’s time to show the world why #PrivacyMatters today, tomorrow, and beyond.

If all this sounds new to you, here’s a shameless plug to start reading my blog Private Parts where I’ve been writing about the most vital topics related to your data privacy. Now I want you all to know that I practice what I preach. Our team took your feedback, and we’ve been diligently working away so we can bring you the ultimate privacy-focused communication platform.

We’ve spent the past year analyzing what our current Dust app does well, what it lacks, and what the future of communication looks like given the recent loss of trust in big tech companies. For the new Dust app we’ve gone to great lengths to deliver privacy and convenience… we’ve invented a new encryption system from the ground up… we’ve reimagined the concept of “delete” to give users total control over their data… and we’ve taken great care to ensure our new user interface separates user profiles from message content to ensure privacy. We are applying everything we’ve learned over the past few years to elevate Dust as The World’s Most Secure Messenger.

What is the Dust Beta Program?

Think of the Dust Beta version as a sandbox full of new toys. Whatever happens in the sandbox, stays in the sandbox. Our Beta program will be running for approximately one month, closing in late 2018. Since this is only a Beta version of Dust, we will not be archiving or migrating any of your information (i.e. user profiles, address book, or any conversations you have) when we relaunch Dust. And most importantly, the Beta program is an opportunity for you to tell us what you like about our new app, and what you dislike.
