Hungry
A Poem

each square image of
this naked body in a bathtub
is un-instagrammable skin
un
worthy
un
desirable
un
happiness
pervades all the doing
of these fingers, legs, mind, pulse
tongue knows liberation
but thoughts are captive
“nothing tastes as good as
being skinny feels”
except for
steaming vindaloo
and golden biryani
or crispy bread
under marinara
under mozzarella.
skinny
I have been there
a rabid visitor
longing for the air
of that barren city
to fill me up
but I just left hungrier.
